Branchville Borough Ordinance #9-2024
AN ORDINANCE BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL AMENDING THE BOROUGH OF BRANCHVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO REPEAL CHAPTER 64 – FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION; TO ADOPT A NEW CHAPTER 64 – FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION; TO ADOPT FLOOD HAZARD MAPS; TO DESIGNATE A FLOODPLAIN ADMNISTRATOR; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance adopts rules and regulations concerning the development and use of land in flood fringe areas to conform with the standards promulgated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). The Ordinance, in combination with the flood provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code and the New Jersey Flood Hazard Control Act, applies to all proposed development in flood hazard areas within the Borough. The Ordinance establishes flood hazard areas within the Borough, local design flood elevation, duties and powers of the Borough Flood Plain Administrator, requirements for permits, requirements for developments within flood hazard areas, requirements for variances from the Ordinance, and fines for violations of the Ordinance.

TAKE NOTICE that the above ordinance was passed on the first reading at a regular meeting of the Borough Council of the Borough of Branchville held on September 4, 2024 and adopted at a regular meeting on October 2, 2024 at the Branchville Borough Municipal Office, 34 Wantage Avenue, Branchville, NJ.
